INFORMATION ON TRAININGS

Last modified: Sunday, October 25, 2009 12:15 PM

You can register on-line at  Adult Training

(E-council link will take you to a new page)

Older girls who are looking to earn the LIT pin may also take the following classes.  They will need to take the Getting Started, and one of the level trainings (ie. Daisy, Brownie, Junior).  To earn the patch, they will need to work with a mentor troop leader and assist at a few troop meetings.

We are very fortunate to have great trainer's in Pleasanton, Tina Amber and Karen Rodriguez.  We suggest all Leaders, co-leader's and members of a co-op troop have Getting Started and the new Leader Basics, along with their "age appropriate" level training.

All classes require pre-registration and locations, dates and times are subject to change.

The Following Courses are now available online.

GSUSA Orientation

This course provides an overview to the Girl Scout organization, including the Girl Scout Mission, Promise and Law, history, Girl Scout pathways (various ways that girl and adult members participate), resources and support available to volunteers, and an overview of the Girl Scout program for girls. Must be taken before meeting with girls.

Safety-Wise

You must have a copy of Safety-Wise (each troop/group receives one free copy in the new troop materials or you may purchase a copy from our retail shop).

Leadership Essentials
An effective Girls Scout troop is not all about Awards & Cookies. The Leadership Essentials course provides structure to help your girls develop leadership skills. This course includes an overview of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and teaches how to effectively partner with your girls to make their plans & goals a reality. You’ll also learn how to be able to see the impact you have on girls’ lives. You must bring a copy of the Adult and Girl Journey books for the grade level of the girls you work with (borrow a copy, or purchase from our retail shop). This course must be taken within four months of your appointment as a Girl Scout volunteer.
